TORONTO – Wouldn’t it be nice to be shown a Russian model and honestly mistake the photo for yourself?
That’s what happened to 10-year-old Montrealer Elizabeth Hiley when her mom showed her some photos of a 9-year-old dubbed the “most beautiful girl in the world” who was featured on the Daily Mail Online.
“I was like, ‘Um when did you take that picture?’” Hiley told Global Montreal. “And my mom said, ‘That’s not you.’ And I said, ‘Who is that?’ She said, ‘That’s Kristina.’ I was very excited. I was like ‘Who is that?’

Hiley’s mom, Anne-Marie Ashcroft, came across the article about Russian child model Kristina Pimenova, and did a double-take. When she sent the photo as texts and emails to family and friends, they all mistook Pimenova for Ashcroft’s daughter.
