TORONTO — Actress Betty White celebrated her 93rd birthday Saturday — but not before the occasion was marked by a flash mob outside the set of her TV series Hot in Cleveland.

White’s assistant greets her every day at work with a hula dance, but on Friday the star was welcomed by dozens of dancers wearing Hawaiian shirts, leis and grass skirts.

The former Golden Girls star was driven to the Hot in Cleveland soundstage by Canadian actor Dave Foley, who plays Bob on the show.

The flash mob ends with White’s co-stars Jane Leeves, Valerie Bertinelli and Wendie Malick doing a hula dance as a large banner reading: “Happy Birthday, Betty” is brought out.

“At 93, you shouldn’t be doing this!,” White exclaimed.
