KELOWNA – Now that most roads are finally clear of snow, city crews are entering the last phase of snow removal and clearing side streets.
The heavy snowfall left downtown and residential areas piled high with snow causing major issues for commuters. City of Kelowna snow removal and ice control crews are now beginning to clear sidewalks, transit stops and other problem areas.
“The snow that Kelowna received was really extraordinary. We haven’t seen this amount of snow in a single snow fall in more than 30 years.” says roadways operations supervisor Stephen Bryans.
“All our available resources and crews have been out continuously for the last four days. We’ll soon be entering the final phases of clearing with a focus on snow removal from side streets and sidewalks.”
Residential and business owners are reminded that they are responsible for clearing the driveways and sidewalks adjacent to their property.
