WINNIPEG — People packed the Winnipeg airport to welcome Madison Bowey home less than 24 hours after helping Team Canada win gold at the World Junior Hockey Championship. Canada beat Russia 5-4 in Monday’s championship game in Toronto.

19-year old Bowey suited up in all seven of Canada’s games and scored three goals and three assists. It was his first ever World Junior Hockey Championship.
Global’s Mitch Rosset spoke to Bowey when he arrived at the airport just after 5 p.m. Tuesday.
