HALIFAX – Nova Scotia cabinet minister, Andrew Younger, is temporarily stepping down from his duties.
A statement sent out by the premier’s office said Younger told Premier Stephen McNeil he is stepping aside for “personal matters that require his full attention.”
Economic and Rural Development and Tourism Minister Michel Samson will take over Mr. Younger’s portfolios temporarily. Samson is already responsible for the Nova Star Ferry file. Younger is also responsible for Communications Nova Scotia and Part One of the Gaming Control Act.
Younger will stay on as MLA for Dartmouth East.
