Inmate escapes during escorted absence from Sask. prison

NORTH BATTELFORD, Sask. – Police are on the hunt for an escaped convict in Saskatchewan. Allan Roderick Wright, 35, escaped on Dec. 20 during an escorted temporary absence on the Moosomin First Nation.

Wright is serving a three-year, five month sentence for assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, break and enter and forcible confinement. He was imprisoned at Willow Cree Healing Lodge, a minimum-security federal facility in Duck Lake.

Wright is six-foot two-inches, 256 pounds with a medium complexion, brown eyes and black hair. His home community is the Moosomin First Nation located north of North Battleford.
