Calgary Transit has retired its last high-floor bus in order to make its system completely accessible.
The fleet’s 1,100 buses have all been transitioned to low-floor buses that are equipped with ramps that can be lowered. This allows customers with mobility issues to use the transit system.

High-floor buses had been in operation since July 1909.
Calgary Transit first started using low-floor buses in 1993.
Twenty of the high-floor buses were sold to Saskatoon Transit, 10 were sold to Gatineau, Quebec Transit, and four were sold to Sunshine Village.
