Cougar cub finds new home

Cougar Cub. Global News

A baby cougar orphaned in Calgary has found a new home in Winnipeg.

The approximately two to three month old female cub was found alone in the snow. She was taken to the Calgary Wildlife Rehabilitation Society.

Cougars cannot be raised in captivity and released back into the wild, so she needed a need home quickly. The only options for her were captivity, immediate release, or euthanasia.

Luckily, the Assiniboine Park Zoo in Winnipeg was able to take the cub and she was transferred to them earlier this week. She will be in quarantine for at least thirty days.
