WINNIPEG – There was a heavy police presence in the 800 block of Main Street Friday morning after officers responded to a call of multiple stabbings.
The incident occurred shortly before 3 a.m. inside a Manitoba housing building at 817 Main St.
At least five ambulances and a dozen police units were on scene.

Sources tell Global News up to five people were stabbed, although police are not confirming that information at this time.
The victims had varying degrees of injury.
One of the victims was a security guard who was taken to hospital in critical condition with a stab wound to the chest, sources said.
According to a government website there is always at least one night time security guard on duty at this location.
At least 80 per cent of the residents in the building are seniors.
Police said the investigation is still in the very early stages and could not comment on whether any suspects had been taken in to custody.
