Armed robbery at Aloft hotel in northwest Calgary

CALGARY – Police are searching for two suspects in connection to an armed robbery in Motel Village on Tuesday.

It happened at the Aloft hotel in the 2300 block of Banff Trail N.W. just before 11 p.m.

Police say two men entered the hotel with handguns and demanded staff give them money from the VLTs.

They took off with the cash, running towards the nearby LRT station.

The Calgary Police Service Canine Unit helped investigate, but so far the suspects haven’t been found.

Investigators are checking surveillance cameras for CCTV footage of the incident.

The suspects are described as being in their 20’s. They were wearing hoodies and sunglasses at the time of the robbery.
