TORONTO — There was a parade of fashion in Los Angeles on Sunday night as the stars came out for the 2014 American Music Awards.

The AMAs were all about the LBD — little black dress — including Dianna Agron in a Marchesa Fall 2014 off-the-shoulder dress; Lucy Hale in a Vera Wang Spring 2015 black mini-dress with fringed hemline; and Uzo Aduba in Vivienne Westwood.Versus Versace Spring 2015; and Khloe Kardashian in Versus Versace Spring 2015.

Selena Gomez wore a black backless Armani Privé dress (and, apparently, no bra). Charlie XCX looked “Fancy” in a Vivienne Westwood off-the-shoulder frock. Fergie chose Halston Heritage with Loree Rodkin bondage rings and Anthony Vacarello x Versus shoes.

There were some splashes of colour, though. Actress Elizabeth Banks wore Peter Pilotto; Rita Ora channeled Big Bird in a strapless Zac Posen; and Julianne Hough picked a coral Zuhair Murad Resort 2015 gown.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

Taylor Swift didn’t walk the red carpet but appeared in the press room wearing a floor-length green Michael Kors.

The men varied from stylish (Nick Jonas smoldered in a double-breasted Armani suit) to decidedly casual (Brantley Gilbert evidently wanted people to see him “Just As I Am”).

The night’s fashion loser was easily Bleona Qereti, who showed up looking like a burlesque dancer from Medieval Times. Her mesh outfit, pasties and metallic thong had onlookers asking two questions: “What the…?” and “Who’s Bleona Quereti?”
