Deadly two vehicle crash near Beauval, Sask.

BEAUVAL, Sask. – RCMP are investigating a fatal two-vehicle collision that occurred Friday in northern Saskatchewan. At around 7:30 p.m., emergency services were called to the crash on Highway 155 approximately 15 kilometers south of Beauval, Sask.

According to police, the initial investigation has determined that a northbound car appeared to have lost control and swerved into oncoming traffic. A southbound SUV was attempting to pass another vehicle when it collided with the car.

The 50-year-old male driver and a 39-year-old female passenger of the car were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and passenger of the SUV were both taken to the medical clinic in Beauval and then transferred to hospital in Île-à-la-Crosse, Sask. The extent of their injuries is unknown.

RCMP say road conditions were a factor in the collision.

An RCMP collision analyst and the office of the chief coroner are assisting with the investigation.
