WINNIPEG – Rinelle Harper isn’t ready for the world to see pictures of her bloodshot eye or her bruised body and legs, but the teen does want everyone to know how grateful she is towards two construction workers were there to comfort her in her time of need.
The 16-year-old was sexually assaulted and left for dead Nov. 7. A passerby discovered her lying unconscious on the ground and called for help. Two construction workers ran down, quickly covered her up and called 911.

On Thursday, Harper and her family were reunited with one of those workers, Sean Vincent, at a downtown Winnipeg hotel.
The teen presented him with a polar bear carving and a painting while other family members repeated their thanks.
“Thank you for saving her,” said Rinelle’s grandmother.
Vincent and another construction worker stayed with the teen until an ambulance came.
“At the end of the day, she is the hero,” he said. “We were just two people going to work on a Saturday at the right place at the right time.”
Harper spent almost a week in hospital and family members said she is still easily tired.
Ed Mehanovic, the second construction worker, will meet Harper at a later date.
