KELOWNA – Okanagan residents who suffer from substance abuse are encouraged take part in free workshops designed to help them make positive changes.
The all day event is being offered by the Interior Health Authority and will take place on Friday, November 21. The IHA’s mental health and substance use team hopes to raise awareness about substance abuse and teach people how to create successful changes.
Presentations will focus on things like different substance abuse, personality disorders, harm reduction concepts, and help programs available in the community.
The event is open to the public and coincides with Addictions Awareness Week. The workshops take place at the Kelowna Health Centre on Ellis Street between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
