North Battleford, Sask. man seriously injured in apartment fire

NORTH BATTLEFORD, Sask. – A man was taken to an Edmonton hospital with serious injuries after an apartment fire in North Battleford, Sask. Wednesday evening.

Fire and police were called to the apartment building in the 1400-block of 101st Street around 9:15 p.m. after receiving a report of a structure fire. The fire was contained to a single apartment unit.

A 43-year-old man was injured in the fire. He was conscious and talking to emergency personnel. He was transported to an Edmonton hospital for treatment. There is no word on his current condition.

Mounties and North Battleford RCMP continue to investigate the cause of the blaze. There is no damage estimate.
