KELOWNA – A slice of the Okanagan will be on display to millions of international TV viewers thanks to filming for a BBC program.

Jon Summerland of the Okanagan Film Commission says the series Top Gear will shoot highway footage in the south Okanagan and Boundary areas later this month.

The motoring magazine type show began in 1977 and features test drivers putting various vehicles through their paces.

According to Wikipedia, It’s estimated to attract 350 million views per week in 170 countries.

On the Okanagan shoot, the vehicle being highlighted is a Hennessey VelociRaptor SUV.

“This is awesome for the region as the show has such a huge worldwide audience, it is great exposure for our area and for producers to see the kind of scenery and locations we offer,” says Summerland.
