VANCOUVER – Investigators are searching for the cause of two fires in North Vancouver, one of which is being treated as a possible arson.
The first fire was reported just before 9 p.m. Sunday at an unoccupied home in the 1500-block of Oxford St. Firefighters arrived to find flames shooting almost 20 metres into the air. North Vancouver RCMP say the fire occurred in one of three residences that were slated for demolition.

Several hours later, crews responded to a second blaze in the 100 block of West 12 St. Officials say the cause of the fire is considered suspicious and is being investigated as an arson.
Investigators say there does not appear to be a connection between the two fires.
North Vancouver RCMP are asking members of the public who may have witnessed any suspicious person or activity that night to contact the North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311 or call BC Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
