Milos Raonic beats Roger Federer for the first time at Paris Masters

PARIS – Milos Raonic has his first career victory over Roger Federer.

Raonic, from Thornhill, Ont., defeated the second-seeded Swiss star 7-6 (5), 7-5 in quarter-final play today at the Paris Masters.

The seventh-seeded Raonic needed 93 minutes to complete the victory.

He had 22 aces to eight for Federer, and held a 45-25 edge in winners.

Federer had won all six of their previous head-to-head meetings.

Raonic will next play fifth-seeded Tomas Berdych in the semifinals.
