EDMONTON – Several charges have been laid against an Alberta man accused of trying to smuggle a variety of weapons into Canada, including stun guns, brass knuckles and large bowie knives.
Police say the merchandise originated in the U.S. and was destined for Bonnyville.
The prohibited weapons seizure included 15 brass knuckles, three stun guns, and 9 bowie knives.
It was intercepted by Canada Border Services Agency staff at an international mail processing centre in Toronto.
An investigation led to the arrest of Brian Dinning by Edmonton police with the help of Bonnyville RCMP.
Importation of a prohibited weapon is among some of the charges the 51-year-old is facing.
