PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. – Police in Prince Albert are trying to identify a body found in the North Saskatchewan River on the Thanksgiving long weekend.
Shortly before 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, officers were alerted by two kayakers who discovered human remains along the riverbank, east of the city.

The Prince Albert Fire Department assisted in recovering the body.
The criminal investigation division of the Prince Albert Police Service and the Office of the Chief Coroner are investigating.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Wednesday.
