VANCOUVER – Abbotsford resident Angela Wartberg was shocked to learn a cat had died after being shot by a pellet gun last Thursday.
Steve Allingham’s cat Daisy had died early Thursday morning after she was shot with a pellet gun near her Abbotsford home.
Wartberf said her cat Charlie was also shot with a pellet gun Friday afternoon.
The two residents live about a six minute drive from each other.
Wartberg said Charlie came in from being outside on Friday at about 2 p.m. and when she went to pet him she felt a bump. “There was a little pellet that was half sticking out of him,” she said.
She then shaved the area and kept it clean before taking him to the vet on Saturday where he received a shot. He is expected to make a full recovery, but Wartberg wanted to get the word out about what had also happened to her cat.
Wartberg does not know who it may be, but after reading about Allingham’s cat, she became concerned someone in the area may be using cats for target practice.
“It makes me feel sick that somebody would actually do this to a family pet,” she said. “Even not a pet.”
