Kerry Joseph set to return to Riderville

REGINA – Kerry Joseph is close to returning to the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

Riders General Manager Brendan Taman announced Tuesday morning that the club is bringing in the veteran quarterback.

Joseph played with the Riders from 2006 to 2007, winning a Grey Cup with the Riders in 2007, while also being named the CFL’s Most Outstanding Player that year.

The 41-year-old started his CFL career with the Ottawa Renegades in 2003. He has played for the Renegades, Roughriders, Toronto Argonauts and Edmonton Eskimos, before retiring in January 2014.

He also spent time as a training camp coach for the New Orleans Saints this summer.

Taman told reporters that Joseph should join the club in the next day or so.

The Riders are set to visit the Montreal Alouettes on Oct. 13 but it’s expected that Tino Sunseri will get the start.

Joseph ranked No. 10 on the Riders all-time passing yards list with 7,491 yards.
