Once completed in 2015, there will be four sets of passing lanes spanning 16 kilometres.

Drivers are being reminded that when using the passing lanes, they need to stay in the right lane except when passing other vehicles.

Yellow signs have been placed 300 metres before the end of the passing lane to alert drivers to merge back to the left lane.

Total cost of the project is $8.9 million, with $3.8 million coming from the federal government.
