WINNIPEG – Police have a man in custody following a fire that caused $80,000 damage to a rooming house on Flora Avenue Tuesday morning.
The fire started in a suite at the front of the North End home and was well involved by the time fire crews arrived after 4 a.m., emergency services personnel said.

The six residents in the home at 651 Flora Ave. escaped without injury.
Police didn’t say why the man was in custody.
