Watch above: Nelson Nogier back with Blades after first NHL training camp
SASKATOON – Nelson Nogier is happy to be home after taking part in his first NHL training camp.
“It was definitely an unbelievable experience,” boasted Nogier.
“I learnt a lot over the two weeks I was there, just seeing the changes in the pace the NHL has to offer. The veterans show up every day and they work hard. I just tried to be a sponge while I was there and soak it all in.”

After spending the past two weeks at the Winnipeg Jets camp, Nogier returned to the Saskatoon Blades having gained invaluable experience.
“I was working on my game while I was there. Just stuff on and off the ice that I could try to take from the veteran guys.”
The Blades started the year with two straight losses and will no doubt love having the 18-year-old Nogier back on the ice and in the dressing room.

“He’s going to come back with more confidence,” says draft prospect Cameron Hebig. “Now he’s going to come back and I think he’s going to do very good and be a good leader.”
Head coach and general manager Bob Woods agrees, “We definitely missed his while he was gone, but we’re excited that he had the opportunity to go chase a dream.”
To make room on the roster for Nogier, the Blades reassigned 16-year-old defenceman Nolan Reid to the Notre Dame Rounds of the SMAAAHL.
