TORONTO — Buck 65 is set to release Neverlove, his first album in over three years, on Sept. 30 — but Global News is streaming it a week in advance.

Neverlove is a divorce record, plain and simple,” Buck 65 explained, in a release.

“It doesn’t sound like anything I’ve ever made before.”

The 42-year-old Nova Scotia native, who was born Richard Terfry, said the album is “about the heartbreak, confusion, anger and madness I experienced after losing a love I expected to last the rest of my life.”

Buck 65 said making the album helped him get through a “terrible” time in his life. Still, songs like “Heart of Stone” and “A Case For Us” are among the most catchy he’s crafted in his two-decade career.

The Juno Award winner will hit the road in November to support Neverlove, kicking off a cross-Canada tour Nov. 6 in Victoria and stopping in 11 cities before wrapping up Nov. 29 in Halifax.

The album, out Sept. 30, features 13 tracks (a deluxe version with four additional songs is available on iTunes).
