FREDERICTON – New Brunswick’s political leaders say they’re encountering a lot of confusion among voters and politicians alike when it comes to the province’s recently redesigned electoral boundaries map.

NDP Leader Dominic Cardy says the redistribution of ridings resulted in arguments within his own party when it was setting up new riding associations.

Green Leader David Coon says he’s hearing a lot of confusion at the doorstep as he campaigns in his riding of Fredericton South.

In some cases, people have received campaign material in their mailboxes from multiple candidates in the same party.

Liberal Leader Brian Gallant says it’s an unfortunate setback, but all the parties are trying to inform people on who their candidates are.

Tory Premier David Alward says the changes were needed because the province was over-governed, and he encourages people to visit the Elections New Brunswick website to become informed.

Chief Electoral Officer Michael Quinn says voter information cards have been sent to every home with details on their riding and where and when to vote.

The election is Monday.
