Bride arrested for assault at her own wedding ceremony

GEORGIAN BLUFFS, Ont. – Provincial police have charged a bride with an assault at her own wedding in Georgian Bluffs, Ont.

Police say the charges were laid over the weekend relating to an incident Sept. 3 when a woman refused to take part in the ceremony 15 kilometres northeast of Owen Sound.

Apparently, the bride wanted the 51-year-old woman to act as a master of ceremonies, but she twice declined the offer.

The woman, who suffered minor injuries, left the wedding made a report to police.

Ashley Monk-Foster, 25, of Wroxeter, Ont., is charged with assault and breach of recognizance.

She is due in court in Owen Sound on Oct. 27.
