GRANDMOTHER’S BAY, Sask. – One person remains in a Saskatoon hospital after an alleged drunk driver hit three pedestrians early Sunday morning in northern Saskatchewan.
RCMP were alerted an intoxicated driver had hit three pedestrians just before 12:30 a.m. in Grandmother’s Bay.
Officers arrived to find three injured people: a 19-year-old woman and two men, 42 and 21.
They were taken to a hospital in La Ronge and then transported to Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
The woman and 21-year-old man have since been released.
The driver of the pickup truck fled the scene on foot. He was arrested Sunday evening.
Clayton Scott Roberts, 26, of Grandmother’s Bay is charged with three counts of impaired driving causing bodily harm and failing to remain at the scene of an accident.
Roberts appeared in court Monday morning and has been released until his next appearance in Stanley Mission provincial court on Oct. 16.
Mounties continue to investigate.
