EDMONTON – All provincial registry services have been restored following a Thursday morning information system failure across Alberta, the province said Monday morning. 

Driver’s licence renewals, vital statistics services, corporate registry access, land titles, personal property registry access, and online fine payment are now available; vehicle registration services were not affected by the outage.

On Friday Service Alberta spokeswoman Sharon Lopatka said what caused the system-wide failure had not been determined.

“We’re investigating that. We don’t know what the cause is at this point,” she said. “It’s our first priority to get the systems up and running.”

Lopatka said the glitch affected approximately 220 registries across the province.
