Speed and booze possible factors in crash: police

EDMONTON – Three women were sent to hospital after an early Friday morning crash in St. Albert.

Police said a car rear-ended a semi-truck that was turning at Boudreau Rd. and Campbell Rd.

The driver – a woman believed to be in her 30s – was airlifted to hospital in serious condition.

A woman sitting in the passenger seat also suffered serious injuries, while a woman sitting in the backseat was injured as well.

Police said speed and alcohol may have been factors in the crash.

The intersection was closed for several hours while police investigated.
