Edmonton motorcyclist killed in collision with deer

EDMONTON – A 60-year-old motorcyclist is dead after colliding with a deer on Highway 16 Thursday afternoon.

RCMP were called to the collision around 2:15 p.m. It happened on Highway 16, west of Galloway Road, which is about 30 kilometres west of Edson.

Police say the motorcyclist, who is from Edmonton, was declared dead at the scene.

RCMP do not believe speed or alcohol were factors in the collision.

The man’s name will not be released.
