TORONTO – A 911 tape released today captured the moment that an Arizona woman shot a man who had broken into her home.
In the recording, the 47-year-old woman is heard speaking to a 911 operator as Michael Lewis, 20, breaks into her home through her arcadia door.
“I have a gun in my hands; I’m terrified,” the woman tells the dispatcher.
A struggle is heard, followed by a loud bang. Lewis then asks, “What was that? What was that?”
The woman returns to the phone call, telling the operator, “I shot him.”
Lewis plead guilty to second degree burglary and aggravated assault, according to the Arizona Republic.
