KELOWNA, B.C. – Fire investigators are looking for the source of a blaze Tuesday, after smoke from a kitchen fire forced more than 50 residents from their homes at the Mission Meadows condo complex in Kelowna.

No one was home in unit 108, but the smoke and flames set off alarms in the complex prompting the evacuation.

Platoon Captain Dennis Miller says the fire started in the kitchen, but the ignition point has yet to be determined.

An automatic sprinkler above the kitchen area doused the flames, but filled the unit with smoke and water.
