Rain will give way to sunshine and warm weather

Rain gives way to sunny skies later this week.

WINNIPEG — The rain from the weekend is mostly done.

The Colorado low is still hovering over Manitoba but only light showers are forecast Monday and Monday night, although generally the entire province is starting off the week cool and cloudy with showers.

The system should clear out of Manitoba Tuesday and as that happens, temperatures will slowly start to warm back up.

With the Labour Day weekend quickly approaching, it’s starting to feel like fall already farther west. In Alberta, temperatures have already dropped to 0 C overnight. In Manitoba, that should not happen for a little while yet as we look forward to another quick shot of warmth.

Overall, the month of August has been a treat for Winnipeggers. Only five days have stayed below 25 C so far this month. Compare that to July, when 13 days stayed below the 25 C mark.
