The CFL has undergone several changes over his tenure, most notably the league’s return to Ottawa with the expansion Redblacks.

Cohon also helped negotiate a lucrative broadcast deal with TSN and RDS, and was involved in labour talks this year that led to a new agreement with the CFL Players Association that runs through 2018.

Chairman Jim Lawson says the league’s board of governors will discuss the next steps toward finding a replacement for Cohon soon.
