UPDATE: Overnight stabbing sends one to hospital

CALGARY – 17 Avenue between 4 and 5 Streets has reopened following an early morning stabbing.

Police were called to the busy downtown street after a man in his 20s was stabbed.

Investigators had the area blocked off for several hours while they collected evidence.

The call came in around 1 a.m. Sunday; a 25-year-old man was rushed to hospital in critical life-threatening condition, but has since been upgraded to stable.

Police say at this point there are no suspects, and they’re waiting to speak with the victim.
