SASKATOON – A kidnapping investigation in Saskatoon has ended with a man being charged with making a false statement to police.
Police were called out to an alleged kidnapping of a man near Briargate Road and 8th Street East shortly after 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Patrol and canine units were assisted in locating the man by Mounties who has spotted the man near the 8th Street extension.
The 23-year-old man was checked by paramedics.
Further investigation by the targeted enforcement unit found the kidnapping allegation to be false.
He has now been charged with mischief and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday. His name has not been released.
Police continue to investigate.
