SASKATOON – The “King of Swat” would have a hard time swinging Canada’s largest baseball bat.
At 50 feet tall and weighing in at 2,300 pounds, the ginormous bat is being made in Saskatoon.
It’s been a two year process and will be sent to the Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame in Battleford, Sask. next week.

“We’re a little bit worried about moving it, transporting it, but we’ll give it a try and see what happens,” said Kyle Markussa, president of Progressive Yard Works which is making the bat.
“It’s just a matter of a couple of forklifts picking it up and putting it on a flat deck and shipping it off. It will be quite the sight to see driving down the highway, a giant baseball bat, and I hope we don’t cause accidents.”
The official unveiling of Canada’s largest bat takes place on Aug. 16.
The largest bat in the world, weighing in at 68,000 pounds and standing 120 feet, is found at the Louisville Slugger Museum in Kentucky.
