– RCMP Chief Supt. Russ Mirasty took over command of F-Division in late 2010, becoming the first First Nations person to lead an RCMP division in the force’s history.

– The RCMP Academy, known as Depot Division, has been based in Regina since 1885.

– From 1905 to 1916, the RCMP was contracted to police Saskatchewan. The contracts ended due to the provinces’ desire to create its own police force.

– The RCMP returned to provincial policing with a new contract with Saskatchewan in 1928.
