TORONTO – The four finalists for the $50,000 Grange Prize were announced Tuesday and include Canadian photographers Elaine Stocki and Althea Thauberger.
The prize, now in its fourth year, is the richest photography award in Canada and is voted on by the public.

The other two finalists, both from India, are Gauri Gill and Nandini Valli.
Each of the four shortlisted photographers is awarded an international residency. The Canadian nominees will spent time working in India and the Indian photographers will come to Canada.
The finalists also receive $5,000 toward the creation of new work.
The award will be presented at a gala reception at the Art Gallery of Ontario in Toronto on Nov. 1.
