ANKARA, Turkey – A small bomb exploded on a beach in a Mediterranean resort on Sunday, slightly injuring around 10 people, including at least four Swedes, reports said.
The explosion occurred on a popular beach in the town of Kemer, in Antalya province, sending stones flying and causing panic among hundreds of sunbathers and swimmers, the private Dogan news agency reported.

Dogan said the explosion was caused by a time-controlled device that was buried among the sand and pebbles on the beach and the injured were hurt by flying stones.
The Antalya governor’s office confirmed that six people were lightly injured in a “small explosion,” but said the cause of the blast was not immediately known.
Sweden’s Foreign Ministry said four Swedes received minor injuries in the explosion and were taken to a local hospital. Two of them have already been released.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility, but Kurdish rebels fighting for autonomy in southeastern Turkey have carried out deadly attacks at tourist resorts in the past.
Some people were treated for shock in ambulances that rushed to the scene and police sealed off the beach, Dogan reported.
