GODERICH, Ont. – Wednesday night’s storm and tornado warning sent a panic through Goderich, Ont., but did not cause any serious problems. And there is some good news this morning.
Thousands of residents have electricity again and 60 per cent of the town has natural gas as the town on Lake Huron recovers from last Sunday’s tornado. Ninety per cent of the town of 8,000 should have hydro by Friday.

As well, Highways 21 and 8 have partially reopened.
Goderich CAO Larry McCabe says cleanup crews will continue to work non-stop through the weekend, and reopening closed portions of the town remain their priority.
Frustrated business people who want to see their properties have been told they need to fill out forms before being allowed into no-go zones.
Provincial police will only allow them in their buildings for a brief moment to recoup necessities.
