16-year-old charged with murder after woman found dead in Albert Park

Calgary Police investigate a suspicious death in Albert Park.


CALGARY- A 16-year-old has been charged with murder, after a woman was found dead in an Albert Park home over the weekend.

Around noon on Saturday, police were approached by a person in the 2800 block of 14 St. S.E. who was concerned about a neighbour’s welfare. Police went into the home, and found a woman dead inside.

Investigators determined her death was suspicious, and on Sunday a 16-year-old teenage boy was arrested.

Police says he is known to the victim, and the attack was not random. He has since been charged with second-degree murder, but cannot be named due to his age.

As a result, the identity of the victim is also being withheld.
