TORONTO – A 10-disc DVD collection of Glenn Gould performances, interviews and recordings will commemorate what would have been the pianist’s 79th birthday.
The legendary musician would have turned 79 on Sept. 25. In celebration, CBC is releasing “Glenn Gould On Television: The Complete CBC Broadcasts.”
The box set is billed as “an unprecedented compilation of previously unreleased full-length programs and documentaries.”

The collection will be available Sept. 27.
Meanwhile, CBC is also launching a website (www.cbc.ca/gould) that promises to feature rare and exclusive video footage each month leading up to the 80th anniversary of Gould’s birth next year.
