WADENA, Sask. – RCMP are searching for a suspect after a youth was sexually assaulted in Saskatchewan this past May.
A health care worker filed a complaint with Mounties that a female under the age of 16 had been sexually assaulted on May 11.
Further investigation led police to lay charges against Vincent Alex Desjarlais, 48, of Kylemore, Sask. and issued a warrant for his arrest.
He is charged with two counts of sexual assault, sexual interference of a person under the age of 16, procuring a miscarriage and assault.
Investigators have been unable to located Desjarlais and believe he is actively evading police.
Desjarlais is Aboriginal, 5’10”, 176 pounds with a medium build. He has brown eyes and black hair and may have a pony tail.
He has several tattoos including a circle with feathers extending down on his right arm, an eagle head and flower with a red centre on his left arm, daggers into a circle on his left forearm and various images including a heart and the text “f*** you” on his right forearm.

Desjarlais has connections in the Yellow Quill First Nation, Punnichy, Saskatoon and Regina along with the Long Plain First Nation in Manitoba.
RCMP officials say they are taking the unusual step of releasing information on the sexual assault as their efforts to locate Desjarlais have been unsuccessful.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Desjarlais is asked to contact their local RCMP detachment.
