Suspicious package shuts down Corydon Avenue

WINNIPEG – There were some tense moments on Corydon Avenue Wednesday night when a suspicious package was discovered inside a vehicle.

Winnipeg police and other emergency crews closed the street off between Stafford Street and Wentworth Street around 7:30 p.m. when witnesses said a suspicious package was found in a trunk.

The bomb squad and hazardous materials units were called in as officers investigated the scene.

Winnipeg police said Thursday morning that they found nothing suspicious in the package.
