RCMP in Chilliwack were called to the area of Coote and Windsor Street on Thursday morning to investigate a “sudden and suspicious death.”
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has now taken over the case.
A deceased adult man was found inside a home in the 46700-block of First Avenue.
“I can confirm that IHIT has now taken conduct of this investigation. Our investigators are working with members of the Chilliwack RCMP and will examine the scene in an attempt to determine what took place. We are in the initial hours of the investigation and many details surrounding this death are not known at this time,” says Sergeant Bari Emam of IHIT.
IHIT is also asking anyone who was in the area of the 46700-block of First Avenue in Chilliwack Wednesday night or in the early morning hours of Thursday who may have witnessed anything suspicious in relation to this incident to please call the IHIT Tipline at 1-877-551-4448 or email ihittipline@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
