The restaurant, a Montreal landmark once known as Rotisserie Laurier BBQ, also apologized “to all affected customers for the incident.”

Ramsay, a 44-year-old Scottish-born chef, is internationally renowned through a string of acclaimed restaurants and popular cookbooks.

He is also known for his scorching profanity on high-rated cooking TV shows.

Note to readers: This is a corrected story. A previous version incorrectly stated Ramsey issued a statement when it was in fact issued by the restaurant.
