UPDATE: Severe thunderstorm warning issued for Calgary

UPDATE AT 5:01 P..M. MT: Environment Canada has upgraded its watch to a warning, saying meteorologists are tracking a cluster of severe thunderstorms capable of producing strong wind gusts and toonie-size hail. 

CALGARY- Those heading down to the Stampede grounds on Sunday may want to bring along an umbrella.

Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the city of Calgary, which could lead to strong wind gusts and hail.

Severe thunderstorms can also produce tornadoes.

The storm is expected to hit the city late Sunday afternoon or in the evening.
